Artist Nina Chakrabarti was born in India, but as a teenager she moved to London, where she finished art school. Mixture of culture certainly influenced both her life and on her art. Voodoo, "spirit" or "god" is a set of magical beliefs, which are used in some parts of Africa, South America and West Indies, especially in Tahiti, but in recent times in other parts of the world. Voodoo magic and voodoo dolls are a frequent subject in recent times. Artists seek inspiration in tattoos and masks, to be better expressed. Ritual drawings artist Chakrabarti used for the painting of female faces, like masks that conceal the true face. Their reality is placed "behind the curtain", until the drawing is not removed from the face and the magic disappears.
